Corona – The Mexican Classic
Tuesday, April 10th, 2007
I honestly cannot think of a more deserving beer to write my first review on other than the old Mexican classic, the Corona, which I am currently drinking.

Brewed and bottled in Mexico since 1925 the Corona has come a long way from its humble beginnings. The Corona is now available in more than 150 countries worldwide and comes in different variations, such as the new Coronita:
Which is 2/3rd’s the size of the original Corona – thus making it the perfect companion for a backpack or for a girlfriend who might be starting out on beer drinking. I do admit the Coronita is currently rather hard to get your hands on, but I have found it on offer at one of my local watering holes, the Regatta.
So what is it that makes the Corona so appealing? Simply put – the taste! and the fact that you can easily drink them all night without any nasty side affects that other alcohol has to offer. This may have to do with Corona’s unique smooth, crisp, citrus taste or maybe the fact that Coronas are made with all natural ingredients in 1 of the 8 Modelo breweries in Mexico.
Tradition says that a Corona should be drunk with a slice of lime but it can be enjoyed with nearly any citrus fruit, my current favourite is a lemon, but in desperate times of need I have gone so far as to drink a Corona with a slice of Orange, which I probably won’t do again. Like any good beer the Corona should be served chilled but be careful not to freeze it as an instant freezing reaction can occur if the bottle gets sufficiently tapped on any surface once removed from the fridge, this I can attest to as I have had it happen to me and I was left with an undrinkable frozen Corona! Check out the youtube footage below to see what I am talking about.
Corona is the ideal partner for any occasion or meal and can be consumed at any time of the day/night. It certainly is an enjoyable brew and if you have not yet experienced the unique taste of a Corona, I suggest you get down to you local pub, club or bottle shop and try one today!

Smooth review, smooth beer. This golden girl is one of my favorites, too bad im in love with her younger sister though, Miss Coronita. keep up the good work. cheers.
After many years of enjoying many types of golden ales it is extremely enjoyable to read your article about Corona Beer. I for one agree that is one of my favourite drinks particularly in the Summer months here in Queensland. Great article, great advice, Happy drinking.
Great review,
Definitely one of the most relaxing beers there is, so refreshing and perfect for when you just wanna sit back and relax,
although I do want to point out that the Lemon/Lime trick makes ANY beer taste good, I think Corona is just blessed with being the one who capitalized on it. Now go put a Lime in ur XXXX and it will taste fantastic!
just trying to track down coronitas in oz preferably nsw any help appreciated
Brent a good place to start is Boozle. First enter the beer you want and then your state & suburb – good luck!
